Have You Heard of This Pink Sand Beach?

If you’re like most people, you probably envision a beach having white sand…blue water…palm trees. But what about pink sand? And not just any old pink sand, but sand that’s as soft as powder and looks like it’s been sprinkled with fairy dust. If this sounds interesting, then pack your bags and head to the Bahamas. That’s exactly where you’ll find this pretty in pink gem!

The Pink Sand Beach, in the Bahamas, is located on Harbour Island. This is a small island located just off the mainland of Eleuthera. The beach gets its unique color from Foraminifera, a type of red algae that grows in the shallows around the island. When the algae dies, its pink shells sink to the bottom of the ocean. Once they reach the floor, they are, eventually, crushed into sand by the waves.

This gorgeous pink sand beach is about 3 miles long, and is a popular spot for: swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. If you’re interested in exploring beyond the beach, Harbour Island is also home to numerous restaurants, bars, and shops. If you’re interested in adventure, take a day trip to Eleuthera to see its stunning glass cathedral or go hiking through its lush rainforest.

The Pink Sand Beach in the Bahamas is a must-see destination for anyone who loves stunning natural beauty. With its gentle waves, soft sand, and beautiful pink hue, this beach is truly like nowhere else on Earth.
