But with so much to see and do, it can be tough to know where to start! That’s why we’ve put together a list of the best neighborhoods to explore in Lima.

Miraflores

Miraflores is one of the most popular areas in Lima. It’s known for its beautiful parks and gardens, as well as its lively nightlife scene. Staying near Parque Kennedy, or Parque del Amor, are you are sure to be in the center of the action. There are, also, plenty of restaurants and bars in Miraflores, as well as a number of shops and boutiques. The neighborhood feels very safe, and English is spoken a lot (for those that aren’t comfortable with their Spanish). It’s no secret that this neighborhood is the most popular among foreigners.

Barranco

Barranco is another great area in Lima. It’s home to a number of historical sites, including the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), as well as a number of Art Deco buildings. There are also plenty of restaurants in Barranco, making it the perfect place to grab a bite after a day of exploring, and the nightlife is noticeably better. No question. We prefer Barranco when staying in Lima.

San Isidro

San Isidro is one of the wealthier neighborhoods in Lima. It’s home to a number of embassies and government offices, as well as some of the best shopping in the city. San Isidro is also home to a number of parks and green spaces, making it a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city center.
