The History of Latin American Cuisine and Why the Majority of Travelers in the Region Still Ignore its Culinary Delights

Latin American cuisine is a diverse and rich food culture. From the Caribbean to Patagonia, there are many dishes that vary from country to country. One of the most interesting things about this cuisine is that it was influenced by many different cultures – Spanish, Portuguese, African, Native American and Asian. This wide variety of influences has created one of the most unique cuisines in the world.

The history of Latin American cuisine can be traced back to indigenous people, who lived on what are now called Latin America’s “corn belt” and “bean belt.” These crops were domesticated by pre-Colombian indigenous people. 

We are going to highlight one of the most eclectic countries, and cuisines, in Latin America. One that offers extreme varieties of food, that we know you’ll become obsessed with. This cuisine is Peruvian food. 

Because it’s the capital, we are going to highlight some of the cuisines, and restaurants, specifically in Lima. However, there are other amazing food cities across Peru.

2) La Mar Cebicheria: This restaurant is located on the coast of Lima and specializes in ceviche. You can also find other seafood dishes here as well as traditional Peruvian dishes such as arroz chaufa and lomo saltado.

3) Panchita: Located downtown, this restaurant has many different food options from all over Peru.
